Smash will be run over Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Each day will be its own single elimination bracket tournament with a winner and prize each day. Daily winners will receive a redemption code for a Nintendo Switch or Nintendo 3DS game. Registration will cap at 32 players per day. If you place in the top 4 on any of the days, you will be eligible to play in a final, double elimination bracket on Sunday. If you do not make the top 4 on a given day, you are able to enter the tournament on subsequent days. Registration can be done in advance either in person at in the Gaming Room or by emailing gaming@otafest.com with your gamer tag, preferred day to play (or the intention to play multiple days) and your preferred controller. You will need to register before each tournament, and Otafest has the right to refuse your registration if we have reached max attendance or if a Tournament Organizer sees fit at their discretion. Map selection for game one will be decided by rock paper scissors, and the loser picks the second map. For game one characters will be selected in a double blind format as to not allow counter picks. For game two the winner will ban one stage, the loser will then pick their stage, the winner of game one will then select their character, and then the loser will select theirs. Repeat this process if necessary for game 3.

In the event of a timeout, the player with more stocks wins, and in the event that stocks are even the player with the lower percentage wins.In the event that both players exit the blast zone on the same frame a one stock game will be played on the same map with the same characters to determine the winner.

Piranha Plant will NOT be legal this tournament.

Time will be given to set up your name and button layout and button check.All players will be expected to be on time and available before their sets, they can ask the TO's for time estimates but you can and will be disqualified at the TO's discretion if tardy.If any unexpected circumstances occur the word of staff will be taken as final.

Smash Bros Ultimate Tournament

Smash will be run over Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Each day will be its own single elimination bracket tournament with a winner and prize each day. Daily winners will receive a redemption code for a Nintendo Switch or Nintendo 3DS game. Registration will cap at 32 players per day. If you place in the top 4 on any of the days, you will be eligible to play in a final, double elimination bracket on Sunday. If you do not make the top 4 on a given day, you are able to enter the tournament on subsequent days. Registration can be done in advance either in person at in the Gaming Room or by emailing gaming@otafest.com with your gamer tag, preferred day to play (or the intention to play multiple days) and your preferred controller. You will need to register before each tournament, and Otafest has the right to refuse your registration if we have reached max attendance or if a Tournament Organizer sees fit at their discretion. Please try to bring your own controller as Otafest cannot guarantee that we will have a controller for you.

All sets will be best out of 3.

Map selection for game one will be decided by rock paper scissors, and the loser picks the second map. For game one characters will be selected in a double blind format as to not allow counter picks. For game two the winner will ban one stage, the loser will then pick their stage, the winner of game one will then select their character, and then the loser will select theirs. Repeat this process if necessary for game 3.

In the event of a timeout, the player with more stocks wins, and in the event that stocks are even the player with the lower percentage wins.In the event that both players exit the blast zone on the same frame a one stock game will be played on the same map with the same characters to determine the winner.

Piranha Plant will NOT be legal this tournament.

Time will be given to set up your name and button layout and button check.All players will be expected to be on time and available before their sets, they can ask the TO's for time estimates but you can and will be disqualified at the TO's discretion if tardy.If any unexpected circumstances occur the word of staff will be taken as final.

Smash will be run over Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Each day will be its own single elimination bracket tournament with a winner and prize each day. Daily winners will receive a redemption code for a Nintendo Switch or Nintendo 3DS game. Registration will cap at 32 players per day. If you place in the top 4 on any of the days, you will be eligible to play in a final, double elimination bracket on Sunday. If you do not make the top 4 on a given day, you are able to enter the tournament on subsequent days. Registration can be done in advance either in person at in the Gaming Room or by emailing gaming@otafest.com with your gamer tag, preferred day to play (or the intention to play multiple days) and your preferred controller. You will need to register before each tournament, and Otafest has the right to refuse your registration if we have reached max attendance or if a Tournament Organizer sees fit at their discretion. Map selection for game one will be decided by rock paper scissors, and the loser picks the second map. For game one characters will be selected in a double blind format as to not allow counter picks. For game two the winner will ban one stage, the loser will then pick their stage, the winner of game one will then select their character, and then the loser will select theirs. Repeat this process if necessary for game 3.

In the event of a timeout, the player with more stocks wins, and in the event that stocks are even the player with the lower percentage wins.In the event that both players exit the blast zone on the same frame a one stock game will be played on the same map with the same characters to determine the winner.

Piranha Plant will NOT be legal this tournament.

Time will be given to set up your name and button layout and button check.All players will be expected to be on time and available before their sets, they can ask the TO's for time estimates but you can and will be disqualified at the TO's discretion if tardy.If any unexpected circumstances occur the word of staff will be taken as final.
